Use of Boundless' IP-Based, Ultra Low Bandwidth, Digital Video Surveillance System with Cellular, Satellite, RoIP and WiFi Mesh Wireless Networks
Boundless provides the best live and recorded surveillance video via the Internet and wireless wide area networks
Boundless has solved the video surveillance backhaul problem. Boundless' ultra low bandwidth, IP-based system, with optional tunneling, works where other systems don't due to bandwidth and network routing limitations. Boundless' system can be used with wireless wide area networks with uplinks as slow as 8 Kbps. Public safety wireless networks long thought to be slow even for data can now carry live video and be used to remotely and interactively control PTZ cameras.
There is much more to supporting digital video surveillance over wireless networks than merely supporting communications using Internet Protocols. Boundless' comprehensive, ultra low bandwidth, advanced IP-based, digital video surveillance system optimizes many factors required for effective use of public wireless networks where speeds can be 1,000 times less, and latencies and packet losses can be 1,000 times more, than wired networks. Merely connecting a streaming-video IP camera or IP video encoder to a public wireless network rarely provides sufficient capability and may be blocked or prohibited by the wireless carrier.
Boundless' unique, ultra low bandwidth, many-diverse stream, IP-based, video-on-demand (not streaming) architecture makes digital video surveillance using public wireless wide area networks practical. Wireless networks include cellular, CDMA2000, 1xRTT, EVDO, EV-DO, GPRS, GSM, Edge, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, P25, and Globalstar™, Inmarsat™, Iridium™ and VSAT satellite wireless networks, and WiFi, Wi-Fi, 802.11b/g/a mesh, and WiMAX. ZigBee™ mesh networks can also be used.
Boundless reduces wireless network traffic more than 10-fold without sacrificing the quality of recorded video. Boundless keeps much more of the capacity of wireless wide area networks available for other data, and avoids the need for dedicated wireless networks for video. Boundless is not limited to stationary applications and has experience with mobile in-car cellular uplinks on several continents, where a speeding vehicle carrying outward-looking cameras creates large changes in images from one frame to the next.
Boundless provides IP-based PTZ support for both CCTV and IP-based PTZ cameras. Boundless' ultra low bandwidth is ideal for use of PTZ cameras over relatively slow speed, public wireless networks. Very low latency PTZ control and viewing via the Internet can be provided. A mix of IP-based PTZ cameras and CCTV PTZ cameras can be used.
Boundless' bandwidth-saving, video-on-demand products are network-neutral so long as TCP/IP connections are supported by the communications network. Boundless' ultra low bandwidth, many-function, IP-based, x86 Linux-based, Multi-Stream Video Server™, when equipped with a video capture card, digitizes video from up to four CCTV cameras. Optionally, it decodes MJPEG and MPEG-4 video from IP-cameras. It contains a software bank of up to nine IP-video encoders per camera, and an internal Network Video Recorder. Its ethernet port connects to a wired ethernet LAN, wireless ethernet client or modem. Certain USB modems are also supported. Uplink bandwidth for live video can be as low as 4,800 bps but at least 32 Kbps is recommended.
Boundless supports mobile-originated, non-routable connections that are common in many public wireless networks, including cellular and WiFi mesh networks. Boundless' Multi-Stream Video Server™, when used with Boundless' Broadcast Server, can tunnel out of mobile-originated networks, through routers and firewalls, that don't otherwise allow incoming IP connections to servers inside the network.
Boundless supports dynamic IP addresses using its own Name Server that customers can purchase to provide additional confidentiality and further reduce the risk of Cyber Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. Such Cyber attacks can be particularly effective when low speed wireless communications are used.
The search engine integrated into Boundless' Multi-Stream Video Server™ speeds motion searches over wireless networks, remotely searching hours of recorded video in seconds. Boundless' Control Panel client live and recorded viewing, and searching software, can detect and signal Boundless' instant-messaging-like Live Alerts, avoiding e-mail and text-message delays and reducing tedious remote monitoring. Boundless' hyper rapid access video file system quickly sends desired video clips that are selected by simply clicking on a point on a motion graph.
Custom software development under contract can be provided to satisfy special requirements.

Did you know that GSM / GPRS / Edge cellular networks do not allow access from the Internet to mobile devices -- unless you do something special ? The reason is the gateway and firewall between the cellular network and the Internet block incoming IP-connections to mobile servers on the GPRS network. Boundless' Tunneling Option, with Boundless' VPN & Tunneling Broadcast Server and service not only solve this problem, but also enable multiple viewers of the same video stream at the same time to avoid putting additional loads on the mobile uplink, while still maintaining ultra low bandwidth on the uplink.
