Boundless Security Systems, Inc.
the communications bandwidth experts
"Outdoor digital video surveillance is a communications problem first, and a video problem second" -- Steve Morton, Boundless' CEO & CTO, MIT '71 BSEE/MSEE
Boundless is an original equipment manufacturer of ultra low bandwidth, IP-based, digital video surveillance systems for wide area networks. Boundless solves the backhaul problem of video surveillance. Boundless' system is IP-data network neutral. It makes border, mobile / in-vehicle, city-scale, citywide, municipal-scale, metro-scale, and countywide, Wi-Fi, WiFi, mesh, 802.11b/g/a, WiMAX, 3G cellular CDMA2000 1xRTT, EV-DO, EVDO, EDGE, GPRS, GSM, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, P25 (with 96 Kbps modem) and Globalstar™, Inmarsat™, Iridium™ and VSAT satellite, wireless digital video surveillance with many simultaneous nearby cameras practical.
We believe bandwidth is precious. The Boundless Security System™ is a communications system first, and a video system second. It is IP-based for scalability, flexibility, bandwidth- and storage-management, and cyber-security unmatched by other systems. We use bandwidth-saving, video-on-demand, not bandwidth-hogging, video streaming. Our multi-function, x86, Linux-based, Multi-Stream Video Server combines a multi-camera, IP-video encoder bank with many different streams per camera to meet the widely varying needs for image quality for situation assessment, monitoring and investigations, analytics / motion zones, rapid event reporting, Network Video Recorder, live, time-shifted and recorded video, and search engine into one compact unit.
Our core technology is contained in our proprietary Video Management System software, which we developed from the ground up using Internet protocols. We sell fully custom-preconfigured video servers with our software installed on generic, x86 Linux computers in them in indoor, mobile and outdoor housings. We license our software suite to OEMs, and we sell fully custom-preconfigured middleware servers using our software.
CCTV cameras can be used. MJPEG and MPEG-4 IP-cameras are also supported but without their usual high bandwidth backhaul requirements. Remote viewing uses Boundless' viewing software on PC's. And, much more than another DVR or NVR, Boundless has developed middleware. With Boundless' Cloud-based architecture, other web-based systems can easily obtain live and recorded video, control PTZ cameras, and get Boundless' Rapid Event Messages without e-mail or text message delays. Mobile-originated / firewalled networks can be used. Many users can simultaneously view live and recorded video, and control PTZ cameras in a web browser on smartphones without burdening uplinks and without requiring any software installation on the smartphone, avoiding cyber security issues of custom executables.
